Mr. Bell’s family traces back to one of the original families that settled in Cades Cove, a jewel of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Growing up with this history instilled in him a strong connection to Knoxville and East Tennessee. It is more than a place to practice law—it’s home.

Working and Fighting Hard in Tennessee

Justin Bell earned his Finance degree from Kennesaw State University and his Juris Doctor from the Duncan School of Law. Even while working full time during law school, he became an internationally published legal author in human rights and interned with Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood, assisting on high-profile cases argued before the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Before law, Justin worked as a financial consultant managing multi-million dollar accounts, where he sharpened skills in persuasion and strategy that now give him an edge in the courtroom. He also ran his own construction company, gaining firsthand respect for hard work and the challenges local families and businesses face.

His personal experience of being wrongfully accused in 2007 cemented his drive to become a defense attorney. That moment fuels every case he takes on today.

I retained Justin Bell on a DUI case and after reviewing the video footage, Mr. Bell was able to identify errors the officer made while administering the field sobriety tests, as well as an illegal seizure for the initial stop. At general sessions court, Mr. Bell was able to use this information to resolve the case and get rid of the DUI charge. Justin Bell represented me in a case where I was charged with felony possession. I was offered a felony plea, but Mr. Bell held a preliminary hearing and fought very hard for me because he knew I was not guilty of what I was charged with. After the hearing, the Class-B Felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. I've never seen another attorney get that done. Mr. Bell represented my son on an Attempted Murder charge. The first thing Mr. Bell did was come out to the scene and interview all the witnesses and photograph the layout where the shooting took place. During a preliminary hearing, Mr. Bell was able to demonstrate how weak the state’s case was and that law enforcement failed to conduct a proper investigation and gave the key piece of evidence (a car with bullet holes in it) back to the complainant who promptly had the vehicle crushed the next day. After showing the state’s case was very weak, Mr. Bell was able to reach a favorable resolution for my son.
